Description
The German Railway is one of the most diverse employers in Germany. Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to grow and improve with us. We are currently seeking candidates for a 3-year apprenticeship as a Train Traffic Controller (m/f/d) for DB InfraGO AG at our location in Hannover. The vocational school is located in Burgdorf.

As a trainee, you will become a coordinator for our trains. Instead of being on the train, you will be working in a control center (called a "signal box"). We have numerous signal boxes throughout Germany. Using screens or boards, you will be able to monitor the trains in your area and control their movements using buttons, keys, and levers. With the push of a button, you can change signals (traffic lights for trains) to green or red and also switch tracks so that the trains can change tracks. You will also have many other tasks that make you a crucial team member for the train drivers. You will be in constant communication and exchange information, for example, about any changes during the journey.

You will work with a team of approximately 40 colleagues in the operations center on an electronic signal box. At your workstation, you will be able to track the trains on multiple screens and control train traffic with the click of a mouse.

What to expect during your apprenticeship:
  • Your colleagues will guide you step by step
