We are seeking NYS Certified Reading Specialists to provide direct reading instruction for General and Special Education students during the school day and/or afterschool.

Position Overview:

Provide General and/or Special Education direct instruction to meet the needs of students as outlined in the student's IEP, curriculum.
Maintain data collection and recordings of student progress.
Evaluate student progress and update programming in accordance with IEP by selecting appropriate methods and materials for classroom/home instruction in specialized reading instruction.
Exhibit professional behavior towards students, families, coworkers, school personnel and supervisors.

Requirements:

NYS Reading/Literacy Specialist
NYS Special Education Certified (K12, Grades 16, or Grades 712)
Trained or certified in Orton Gillingham programs such as: Wilson Level 1, SPIRE, Seeing Stars, Sonday, Lindamood Bell, IMSE, OG Educator, OG associate, and OG Certified
Previous professional experience providing in home and/or in school academic instruction preferred
