At the City of Remscheid (TBR), in the Department of Green Spaces, Cemeteries, and Forestry, we are looking to fill the position of

Head of Green Space Management (m/f/d)

Full-time (39 hours/week)


The Technical Services of Remscheid are a self-sustaining institution of the city of Remscheid and define themselves as a modern, dynamic service company that is responsible for the future-oriented development and design of the city's infrastructure.


Within the Department of Green Spaces, Cemeteries, and Forestry, we maintain three city parks, over 1,500 green spaces of various sizes, 130 playgrounds, and 29 sports fields, as well as the outdoor areas of 20 day care centers and 32 schools.

In total, we care for 24,000 city trees, ensuring their safety and preparing them for future challenges.


We are looking for a dedicated engineer (with a degree in engineering, bachelor's or master's) with preferably several years of professional experience in green space management to lead the Maintenance/Operations/Green Space Management department.


Your responsibilities:

  • Managing a team of 36 employees
  • Overseeing tasks based on technical and economic criteria
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations within the department
  • Handling fundamental issues within the department (organizational, personnel, financial, and technical matters)
  • Leading the development and updating of departmental guidelines,
