At the Helmut-Schmidt-Universität/Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg (HSU/UniBw H), the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences is seeking to fill the W2 Professorship "Public Law, with a focus on public economic law and law of transformation" (reference number: WiSo-0324) by October 1, 2025.


We are looking for an outstanding academic personality (m/f/d) who represents the field of Public Law in research and teaching in its entirety and stands out in particular in the mentioned focus areas through excellent research activities.

An additional research focus in a fundamental subject is desired.


The Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences offers an excellent research environment, including a well-equipped infrastructure, a high level of collegial cooperation, the opportunity to shape future structures and their orientation and development in research and innovative teaching.

The faculty offers two legal degree programs for civilian students, a Bachelor's degree in law (Law for Public Administration) and a Master's degree in procurement and contract law (LL.M.).

The incumbent of the position is expected to contribute to the further development of these programs as well as to the strengthening of the faculty's international and interdisciplinary orientation.

Furthermore, the willingness to acquire and conduct third-party funded projects and to teach in other degree programs of the faculty is expected.

It is expected that the incumbent of the position prepares students for professional activities within and outside the Bundeswehr that require the application of scientific knowledge and methods,
