    Description

    Job Description and Duties

    • This position is limited term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
    • This position is located at CC#41 Fenner Canyon in Valyermo, CA.
    • Under the supervision of the Assistant Camp Commander, the Correctional Officer is responsible for the custody, supervision, security, health, and welfare of the inmate population and care of equipment, as well as the security coverage of the camp facility and boundaries.
    • Actively support the vision and mission of CDCR by promoting a rehabilitative environment.
    • Utilize skills consistent with CDCR to provide a safe environment.
    • The Correctional Officer shall conduct duties in a professional manner at all times consistent with California Code of Regulation 3391, Employee Conduct, and keep the immediate supervisor informed of any unusual or emergency situations as they occur.
    • Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).

    Working Conditions

    This position requires overtime and travel.

    Special Requirements

    • Candidates must be a permanent, full-time Correctional Officer and have completed the Correctional Officer Apprenticeship Program to interview.

    Specific Benefits

    • Continuation of health, dental, and vision insurance coverage as well as medical reimbursement account for employees and eligible dependents who involuntarily lose coverage.

    • Offers you and your dependents preventive, basic and major dental care coverage through one of several dental plans.
