JOB DESCRIPTION

Mechatronics Technicians work in the assembly and maintenance of complex machines, systems, and equipment for companies in the mechanical and plant engineering, electrical and electronics industries, as well as for service and maintenance providers and operators of production facilities in all industries.

In the profession of mechatronics technician, the focus is not primarily on the production of mechanical parts or wiring of circuits, but on the integration of modular and standardized components into systems of increasing complexity. The main focus is on understanding cause-and-effect relationships, functional and holistic system considerations, as well as the design of work processes and procedures. This requires both a networked way of thinking and acting, as well as teamwork and coordination with upstream and downstream areas.

The regular duration of the apprenticeship is 3.5 years and can be shortened to 3 years with very good to good performance (vocational school/company) during the apprenticeship.

The training at Homestead mainly takes place in the production areas of our sister companies at the Stuttgart location, as well as in our logistics center in Ludwigsburg.

The first 11 months of the apprenticeship are carried out at the GARP Education Center, location: Ostfildern-Ruit (= Technical Basic Training).
