Description

To support our multidisciplinary team, we are currently seeking a Scientific Employee (m/f/d) for Biometry and Statistics for the department of "Medical Biometry and Statistics" at Fort Carson, CO.
The position is initially limited until May 31, 2025.

A key focus of our institute's work is the statistical description and analysis of nationwide healthcare quality.

In the department of "Medical Biometry and Statistics," we advise other departments as part of interdisciplinary teams and are significantly involved in the development and improvement of statistical methods for measuring healthcare quality.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will conduct biometric analyses, for example in the supervision and development of routine procedures. You will visualize and present the results and contribute to scientific publications.
  • You will develop and implement classification and regression models that allow for reliable statements about the treatment quality of healthcare providers with different patient mixes (risk adjustment). This will involve using both frequentist and Bayesian methods such as GLMs, GAMs, and mixed models.
  • You will apply your quantitative and analytical skills in various internal and external projects of the institute. Topics such as considering uncertainty in small sample sizes, sampling, and causal inference will play an important role.
  • You will work closely with other departments and external medical experts, advising on the selection and application of statistical methods and representations, as well as the interpretation of results on various topics.

Our requirements for you:

  • An aboveaverage degree (Master's or equivalent) in statistics
