Exciting opportunity at a rapidly growing law firm.
Seeking an Entry Level Finance Clerk for a growing law firm in New York, NY. Potential future career growth dependent on individual accomplishments displayed. Current states serviced are FL, NY, NJ, PR and VA.

Responsibilities:

Collect and sort invoices and checks.
Responsibilities include processing, tracking and following up on payments due to the firm and our clients in connection with legal proceedings.
Keep a thorough record of business transactions and enter data from daily work logs into the company's general ledger system.
Supporting the accounting staff by performing any assigned accounting and clerical tasks.
Keep track of any consumer issues that require a refund and make sure that the refunds are issued in a timely manner.
Assist senior accounting personnel with any tasks conducted within the accounting department.
Posting payments to customer accounts.
Ability to learn new software rapidly.

Qualifications:

12 years of prior accounting experience with computer proficiency (MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Competency and willingness to learn with legal software accounting systems
Attention to detail
Associates degree
Law firm experience preferred, but not required

Pay:
$ $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
