Seeking an Entry Level Finance Clerk for a growing law firm in New York, NY. Potential future career growth dependent on individual accomplishments displayed. Current states serviced are FL, NY, NJ, PR and VA.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and sort invoices and checks.
- Responsibilities include processing, tracking and following up on payments due to the firm and our clients in connection with legal proceedings.
- Keep a thorough record of business transactions and enter data from daily work logs into the company's general ledger system.
- Supporting the accounting staff by performing any assigned accounting and clerical tasks.
- Keep track of any consumer issues that require a refund and make sure that the refunds are issued in a timely manner.
- Assist senior accounting personnel with any tasks conducted within the accounting department.
- Posting payments to customer accounts.
- Ability to learn new software rapidly.
Qualifications:
- 12 years of prior accounting experience with computer proficiency (MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Competency and willingness to learn with legal software accounting systems
- Attention to detail
- Associates degree
- Law firm experience preferred, but not required
Pay:
$ $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
