What you will learn with us:

As a trainee for the profession of Surgical Technical Assistant, you will learn comprehensive skills for the optimal care of patients. During your three-year training, you will learn and independently perform the following tasks:

  • Assisting in the operating room
  • Organizing and coordinating work processes in the surgical area in collaboration with all involved professional groups
  • Professional patient care
  • Preparation and follow-up of surgeries
  • Instrumentation in surgical disciplines
  • Implementation of hygiene guidelines
  • Economical use of resources

How is your training structured:

  • Practical training: At least 2500 hours at the assigned locations
  • Theoretical instruction: At least 2100 hours on study days and in class blocks at the Surgical Technical Assistant School
  • Instruction in surgical theory, hygiene and microbiology, general and special surgery, anatomy and physiology, general and special pathology, basic nursing, psychology, sociology and pedagogy, pharmacology, anesthesia, professional and legal studies,
