Primary Responsibilities:
- Scientific operations will include, but are not limited to maintaining mouse colonies, genotyping, flow cytometry, transplantation experiments, cell culture, cell biology, molecular biology, confocal imaging, histological analyses, etc. Experience in these techniques especially familiarity with mouse experiments and flow cytometry is highly desired.
- Help to plan research, execute experiments and research tasks, and help to plan future research strategy. Scientific growth will be encouraged, and research projects will be assigned as needed.
- Provide assistance to other projects and collaborate with other labs/external collaborators/subcontractors as assigned.
- Participation to laboratory meetings and other scientific presentations as well as provide assistance in writing reports and figures/manuscript preparation.
- Train lab staff/others in use of techniques and equipment.
- Help supervise students and staff and provide feedback on performance.
- Help with managing laboratory equipment and supplies, inventory, and EH&S laboratory protocols, etc. This include maintaining records for the lab and ensure compliance with safety protocols and other relevant policies, and to work closely with administrative and financial personnel to ensure proper documentation and compliance with grant and other administrative policies. Familiarity with database management is desired
- Help managing mouse colonies genotyping, husbanding, import/export of animals, etc. and submission of IACUC mouse protocols
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 4 years of professional work experience recommended.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, genetics, developmental biology, biomedical engineering
- Master's degree strongly preferred
- Selfmotivated and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and be able to work independently as well as within a team. Success in this position will require proactivity, attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, as well as software related to lab activities, such as Prism, Flow Jo, Illustrator, and statistical software.
- Track record of scientific achievements, direct mouse and flow cytometry experience
Pay:
$65, $70,000.00 per year
