Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- 50%: Research activities including experimental procedures, analysis of data, and communicating results

Keeps detailed records of procedures and data.- Analyzing plant gene expression datasets generated from RNAseq or related techniques.- Construct sequencing libraries using either in-house protocols or kits.- Conduct GWAS, eQTL, and TWAS analyses.- Experience in confocal microscopy.- Experience in plant molecular biology including DNA cloning, construct generation, and plant transformation.- Mentors students on analyzing and preparing data results.- Validates strategic decision-aid models.- Develops procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy of data collection and analyses.- Identifies, assimilates, and synthesizes data needed for computer models and manages databases relating to statistical and related software.- Maintains expertise with the latest hardware and software technologies for statistical and numerical data analyses.
Keeps up-to-date on scientific research via reading of literature, etc. Attends scientific meetings and seminars for research enhancement.- Prepares data for publication and presentation. Writes grants and proposals to acquire external funding.- Coordinates laboratory activities. Maintains laboratory instrumentation and follows applicable safety standards.- Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Education and Experience:
- Ph.
- Six years of related experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Knowledge of the statistical software R.
- Proficiency using Unix/Linux.
- Proficiency using Adobe Photoshop, ImageJ, or other image processing software.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- May supervise undergraduate and graduate students, and potentially postdocs dependent upon acquiring grant funding.
- Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.
- Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.
- Work well with others and in a teamwork environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
