    FUNCTION

    This position will provide direct peer support to Youth Counselors. Senior Youth Counselors will ensure Overnight environments remain safe, secure, and affirming. They provide clients with individual support and are responsible for ensuring clients' needs and concerns are communicated to Overnight leadership and clients' care teams. Senior Youth Counselors will submit work orders to the IT and facilities teams as well as complete food orders and other logistics as needed. Senior Youth Counselors will also be required to provide shift coverage as needed, within their designated shifts. Training/Experience in youth social services required.

    WORKDAYS

    [X ] Monday [ X ] Tuesday [ X] Wednesday [X ] Thursday [X] Friday [ X] Saturday [ X] Sunday 36 hours/Week. Tues, Thurs, and Saturdays Daytime and Overnight Hours

    TOP RESPONSIBILITIES

    ● Develop and facilitate group activities that achieve the learning objectives set by the Overnight leadership ● Take the lead in managing site inventory (food/supplies/COVID trackers)

    o Submit Facilities/IT Work orders/ Staples account.

    o Ordering food and supplies for housing site

    ● Ensure clients are connected to services and engage with care teams including Case Managers, Mental Health Specialist,

    Health Counselors and Unity Works.

    o Attend Treatment Team Meetings, Clinical Treatment Meetings and communicate updates and concerns to Overnight

    leadership

    ● Ensure record keeping is accurate and timely, including but not limited to

    o Site log books

    o Incident report submission to PTS

    o Incident report, fire drill, Driscoll invoice and group note binders o Overnight Monthly Totals

    ● Complete client intakes

    ● Conduct on-site training with incoming all Youth Counselors

    ● Provide peer support to Youth Counselors to answer frequently asked questions

    o Lead Monthly Youth Counselor peer support groups

    ● Facilitate day to day crisis management and deescalation among clients

    ● Attend regular staff meetings including; Mandatory In-Service and Client Advisory Board

    TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS

    Computer knowledge and competent writing skills.

    QUALIFICATION NEEDED

    Must be able to work independently, with and across teams. Must be able travel between sites. Experience working with adolescent/young adult population required. Knowledge of psychosocial needs of LGBTQ/homeless population is helpful. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays. Willingness to travel between sites. Supervisory experience is a plus. Transgender & gender non-conforming people are encouraged to apply. Bilingual (Spanish) speaking encouraged to apply.
