THIS POSITION IS 6A-6P ON A ROTATING SCHEDULE WITH EVERY OTHER WEEKEND SCHEDULED OFF.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Hospitality aide is responsible for supervising all residents during the designated smoke brake times to ensure safety.

Aides distribute one cigarette at a time (they are allowed two during each brake) and light the cigarettes for the residents.

They must put on smoke aprons on the residents that have been care planned to have one. The smoke aide is responsible for keeping count of all cigarettes in the smoke box.

The smoke aide must make sure that the resident does not have or keep cigarettes or lighters on their persons.

Hospitality Aide will pass out water, dress beds, organize rooms, and give blankets to the residents as needed.

Hospitality Aide will sit with residents who need one-on-one observation if needed.

Hospitality Aide will monitor and answer call lights. They must tell the nurse if a resident need any kind of nursing assistance.


EDUCATION:

Must be able to read, write, and follow oral instructions. High school education or equivalent is preferred.


QUALIFCATIONS:


  • Has the ability to organize, plan and supervise care of a group of residents assuring quality is provided at all times for this group as well as others in the facility.
  • Maintains effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Is of good emotional, mental and physical health having sound judgment and high standards.
  • Is willing and capable of providing emergency care as needed for any resident in the facility.
  • Is courteous in working with residents, families, and employees.
  • Maintains a neat, well groomed appearance at all times. Keeps personal appearance appropriate for resident care.
  • Has a desire to work with the geriatric resident and their current and prospective needs.
  • Must be in the facility ready to begin assigned duties on time and as scheduled.
  • Must be willing to work preferred shifts as scheduled and assist on other shifts as needed to assure adequate staffing to meet the needs of each resident.
  • Must demonstrate ability to function as a cooperative team member with each member of the Nursing Department and other departments.
  • Must be able and willing to function appropriately in a disaster or evacuation of the facility.
  • Must demonstrate ability to follow direction of supervising staff.
  • Must have a preemployment and an annual Tuberculosis screening examination.
