Department Overview
Gas Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable flow of natural gas service to our customers.

Gas Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.

  • Support the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the transmission and distribution pipeline systems through the proactive use of asset knowledge, threat identification, knowledge of threat interaction, data integration and analytical tools to increase operational efficiency, improve system integrity and minimize safety risk to employees and the communities we operate in.
Position Summary
Responsible for measurement data review and analysis to ensure gas measurement used for billing and custody transfer is accurate. Performs editing of inaccurate or missing measurement data due to equipment failures. Works with internal and external customers regarding measurement issues.

Identifies problem(s) and coordinates between field offices, gas accounting and external customers to ensure problems are resolved in a timely manner.

For the role
- some office work for training initially and ongoing collaboration in Stockton and at Dublin center for safety and innovation.

Location is flexible within the PG&E Service Territory between Stockton and Dublin, please note hiring leader will make final decision of what are appropriate headquarters for the role based on business need.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory (Stockton or Dublin).

50% of time will be travel between Stockton and/or Dublin [depending on HQ]. There will also be organizational staff meetings at San Ramon.


A reasonable salary range is:


Bay Area Minimum:
$80,000


Bay Area Maximum:
$120,000

&/OR


California Minimum:
$76,000


California Maximum:
$114,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
3 years relevant experience in accounting.
Good understanding of the computer systems and Microsoft suite of products.


Desired Qualifications:

5 years relevant experience in the natural gas industry.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Desired
Knowledge of FlowCal software and gas transmission or distribution systems.
Experience working with system networks.
Ability to learn and understand multiple systems simultaneously.
Understanding of field gas flow/volume measurement hardware, gas accounting department procedures, and PGE measurement maintenance standards and guidelines.

Basic understanding or measurement parameters such as gas temperature, pressure and compositional information and its impact on volume and dekatherm measurement.

Ability to complete assigned responsibilities such as running jobs, assisting customers, completing reports and prioritizing conflicting assignments while adhering to deadlines.

Ability to work through issues and problems with support from senior staff and management.
Demonstrates analytical problems solving skills.
Self-motivated and possess decisiveness in judgment with little supervision.
Ability to organize data and document processes and procedures created for work product.
Experience working with Microsoft Excel functions.


Responsibilities:


  • Reviews measurement data for completeness, accuracy and validity.
  • Analyzes measurement data collected from various gas measurement devices and ensures the equipment is properly configured and is operating per company standards and guidelines to meet company's measurement accuracy requirements.
  • Consults with measurement engineers, measurement specialists, field supervisors/technicians, gas control, customer account managers/representatives, and customers to resolve measurement issues, technicians about measurement data corrections including editing missing data gaps, incorrect measurement data, and incorrect or missing calibration records.
  • Identifies changes needed to maintain accurate measurement as operating conditions change in various metering stations and consult with operating techn
