The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With over 3,000 employees, we conduct an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.

Our central technology platforms (core facilities) support research at DKFZ by providing scientists with access to state-of-the-art equipment and methodological expertise.

To strengthen the Enabling Technology Department, where the core facilities are organized, we are looking for a Finance Officer to support the financial management of the technology platforms in close collaboration with the central finance department and the core facilities.

Your responsibilities:

Analyzing the cost structures of the different core facilities
Supporting the implementation and use of an online booking platform for planning and tracking services
Creating cost calculations for the various services of the core facilities
Integrating these calculations into the financial and procurement processes
Preparing financing concepts to ensure the sustainability of the core facilities in collaboration with the finance and grants departments
Assisting the Chief Enabling Technology Officer (CETO) in budget planning and financial management of the core facilities

Your profile:

Completed degree in business administration or a comparable commercial education with relevant professional experience
Experience in the commercial sector at academic research institutions is advantageous
Knowledge of controlling and cost accounting is desirable
Proficient in IT applications, especially MS Office/Excel
