Who wants to actively participate in environmental protection? Who is interested in biology, chemistry, and manual work? As an environmental technologist for wastewater management, you will monitor wastewater treatment plants, conduct analytical measurements, and maintain various equipment and machinery to ensure that vital water is cleaned and returned to the cycle.
The training lasts for three years and takes place at the municipal civil engineering office/urban drainage department (SES). The practical training mainly takes place at the main sewage treatment plant in Stuttgart-Mühlhausen. The vocational school lessons are held in block form at the Kerschensteinerschule Stuttgart.Training contents:
- Monitor operations at a sewage treatment plant, inspect wastewater treatment facilities, and troubleshoot any malfunctions
- Think about biological and chemical questions and learn, for example, what substances make up sludge and wastewater
- Learn to assess and protect against electrical hazards
- Learn basic manual techniques such as drilling, filing, and sawing and work with metal and plastic parts 360 video about the training profession: What do the employees of the Stuttgart urban drainage department actually do?
