Operating under detailed instructions and review the purpose of this position is to provide the essential technical knowledge and perform the work listed.

This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence.

The purpose of this position is to work on design and create pipeline drawings and may serve as Design Area Lead.

- Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of advanced complexity

  • Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation of advanced complexity within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
  • Perform bulk material takeoff analysis and tabulations
  • Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Background checks are carried out as part of any conditional offer made, including (but not limited to & role dependant) education, professional registration, employment, references, passport verifications and Global Watchlist screening.
  • Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.

Basic Job Requirements

  • Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study, or; A combination of education and directly related experience equal to fifteen (15) years*; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a timeconscious and timeeffective manner
  • Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
  • Practical field experience

  • Under general supervision, develop drawings/documents such as:


  • Typical Construction Drawings

  • Construction Permit Drawings
  • Pipeline Construction Alignment Sheets (Plan & Profiles)
  • Construction Details
  • Material Take Offs (MTO)
  • Construction As-Builts
  • Overview and Drawing List
  • Legend, Symbology & Notes
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of computeraided design (AutoCAD) software.
  • Knowledge of elevation and coordinate systems, both World and Plant
  • Assist and provide project support to the Design and Engineering Team as required.
  • Recommend / implement layout and design concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office programs (Word Excel, Outlook)
  • Utilize client and/or vendor data and work with other disciplines as required to maintain interdepartmental consistency of pipeline documents / drawings.
  • Learn company/project standards and maintain high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Actively participate in, and maximize the use of, Fluor's Pipeline Knowledge Community and other available resources.
  • Travel, as required, to ensure the successful execution of project and/or department goals.
  • Attend external technical seminars and selfenroll in training courses for inhouse management.
  • Following checking standards procedures, perform selfcheck of completed work.
  • Issue drawings following company/project procedures.
  • Exhibit basic understanding of pertinent pipeline industry design practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have familiarity of ASME B31.4 and ASME B31.8 codes
  • Have knowledge of Autolisp and its utilization in AutoCAD
  • Have knowledge of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD)
  • Have knowledge of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
