The Municipal Hospital Karlsruhe is the largest hospital in the Middle Upper Rhine region. It is designated as a maximum care hospital for the region in the hospital requirement plan of the state of Baden-Württemberg and is a teaching hospital of the University of Freiburg. Every day and around the clock, over 4,500 qualified employees ensure the care of patients.

The Clinic for Radiooncology and Radiation Therapy offers all modern treatment methods such as intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT and VMAT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), stereotactic radiotherapy / radiosurgery, and brachytherapy. The equipment includes three linear accelerators, an afterloading device with an operating room application area, and a large-bore CT for treatment planning. The clinic also has its own bed ward.
