As we expand our team, we are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to join us as a Clerk/Cashier, assisting with various tasks to ensure a seamless and delightful experience for our patrons.


As a Clerk/Cashier at Chat Genie Café, you will serve as the face of our establishment, greeting guests with a warm smile and efficiently processing their orders.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting customers warmly as they enter the café, answering questions about menu items, and providing recommendations.
  • Operating the cash register and processing transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Handling cash, credit, and debit card payments, and providing customers with receipts.
  • Assisting customers with placing orders, including coffee drinks, pastries, and other menu items.
  • Packing and presenting orders neatly and accurately for dinein or takeaway customers.
  • Ensuring cleanliness and organization at the checkout counter and surrounding areas.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and restocking items as needed.
  • Assisting with basic food preparation tasks, such as assembling sandwiches or salads.
  • Providing exceptional customer service by addressing customer concerns and resolving issues promptly.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience in a retail or customer service role preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift and carry moderate loads.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of coffee and café menu items preferred but not required.
  • Experience with operating a cash register or pointofsale system.
  • Enthusiasm for providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive experience for guests.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment while maintaining a friendly attitude.
