In the field of Heilerziehungspflege, your professional activity primarily consists of supporting and caring for people of all ages with assistance needs.

You create individual development plans for each person you care for. As a Heilerziehungspfleger/-in, you also focus on the
personal development of individuals with assistance needs. Your tasks also include certain
therapeutic activities, as well as administering medication, assisting with eating and personal hygiene.

Your responsibilities range from everyday tasks such as shopping and cooking to promoting the personal interests of the individuals you care for through activities such as theater, concerts, and movies.

You plan outings together and encourage them to make music, draw, or do crafts.

Empathy and patience are important qualities in your daily work, as well as effective communication skills, as Heilerziehungspfleger/-innen regularly interact with various professionals such as healthcare workers, family members, and other support services.

You must be able to work successfully in a multi-professional team.
