Training as an Operating Technical Assistant

The training to become an OTA provides technical, personal, social, and methodological skills and prepares for the job in a three-year program.

in operating assistance,
in the emergency department,
in endoscopy,
in the central sterilization supply department (ZSVA),
and other diagnostic and therapeutic functional areas.

Since the implementation of the ATA-OTA Act on January 1, 2022, the profession is legally regulated and concludes with an oral, theoretical, and practical exam.

The training follows the legal requirements of the ATA-OTA-G and includes 2100 hours of theoretical and 2500 hours of practical training, which is completed within 3 years.
