Student Assistant (m, w, d) to Support the Digital Humanities Lab:

Leibniz Institute for European History (IEG), Mainz:
The
Leibniz Institute for European History (IEG) in Mainz is a non-university research institute in the Leibniz Association.

It conducts and promotes research on European history from the early modern period to contemporary times and is actively involved in the development of digital humanities.

At the earliest possible date, a position is available at the IEG as a


Student Assistant (m, w, d)

to support the Digital Humanities Lab

for 5 to 10 hours per week.

The DH Lab brings together the development of digital methods and activities of digitally supported research on European history.

It also contributes to other areas of work at the IEG by supporting source criticism, heuristics, and analysis with digital tools and methods.


Your tasks

  • Data management: maintenance of structured information collections and data organization
  • Editing: preparation and maintenance of digital publications
  • Administration: preparation and followup of meetings and events
  • Information: literature collection and internet research

Your profile

  • You have excellent German and English skills.
  • You are proficient in using common office software (Office) and are willing to familiarize yourself with other systems used in the DH Lab (e.g. GitLab).
  • You work reliably, carefully, independently, and in a structured manner.
