At the Institute for Dynamics of Complex Systems at Georg-August University in Göttingen, Germany, the Physics and Didactics working group is currently seeking to fill the position of a Postdoctoral Researcher (w/m/d) with a full-time workload of 100% (currently 39.8 hours/week) for a fixed term of three years.

The salary will be based on pay grade 13 TV-L.


The focus of the Physics and Didactics working group is on developing innovative teaching and learning approaches for the introductory phase of physics studies and researching these approaches using empirical methods (field and laboratory studies, eye tracking).

The research has a particular emphasis on task-based learning with multiple representations, including experiments. The position is part of a larger research project in this area.

The young working group is currently developing into a research-strong group in the field of subject-specific higher education didactics.


Your responsibilities

  • Development of innovative and challenging experiments for physics teaching and studies using digital media
  • Designing new approaches for integrating experiments into physics teaching or studies
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of the developed concepts and analyzing teaching and learning processes during experimentation, including processoriented methods (e.g. eye tracking)
  • Participation in acquiring thirdparty funding
  • Coordination of the project
  • Participation in teaching activities according to § 31 NHG and in performance assessments
