Position Overview:

  • Calling in loads to the scale house
  • Keeping the area clean and free from debris
  • Checking material and providing direction on its location throughout the yard
  • Identifying different metal and nonmetal contaminants visually
  • Assisting in general maintenance and cleanup of the facility
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Safety/OSHA guidelines and adherence for your safety and others
  • Willingness to learn and go the extra mile in the scrap metal recycling industry
  • Metals knowledge is a plus, but not mandatory
  • Ability to comprehend and carry out written and oral instructions, work independently, and multitask
  • Meeting attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
  • Flexible to work off hours, overtime, and weekends in an industrial environment, including all weather conditions
  • Able to walk on uneven work surfaces, lift 50 lbs., bend, stretch, stand for extended periods, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and run
  • Willingness to crosstrain, be self-motivated, have good work ethics, and work well in a team
  • Must have reliable transportation to work
  • Passing a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and fit-for-duty test if required

Safety:

This role mandates wearing the following personal protective equipment at all times:

  • Safety glasses
  • Head protection
  • Hard-toed work boots
  • High visibility safety vest
  • Other necessary protective gear

Work Environment:

  • Primarily outdoors
  • Occasionally loud (in excess of 90dB)

Pay:
$17.00
