ELECTRICAL FIELD TEST TECHNICIAN

Location: Pasadena California or Los Angeles

Full Time / Permanent

Flexible hours including availability on weekends and evenings

Job Description:

  • A rapidly expanding company in the electrical power field engineering services has an immediate opening for an ELECTRICAL FIELD TEST TECHNICIAN experienced in field testing of electrical power equipment. They provide a wide range of services including acceptance testing, commissioning/start-up, and maintenance testing for various job sites. Specializing in electrical power systems from 600-volt class up to 15 KV.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Conduct field testing and visual inspections of electrical power equipment in the 600 volt class up to 15KV electrical power systems. All work is carried out on job sites using portable electrical test equipment with minimal supervision.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform field testing on low and medium voltage switchgears, circuit breakers, instrument transformers, protective relays, ATS', motor control centers, transformers, grounding systems, etc.
  • Ensure field testing is done following NETA and ANSI guidelines.
  • Experience in testing electrical power substations and large electrical distribution systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Two years College degree, BSEE or equivalent military experience.
  • NETA Certified Technician with a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Ability to write technical reports on field work.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and problem-solving abilities in the field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean DMV record.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code, OSHA, IEEE, NFPA standards.

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per year

  • 8-hour shift
