About the Center of Excellence (CoE) in
Budd Lake:

The CoE, located in Budd Lake, was established in September 2020 during the German EU Council Presidency at the request of the Federal Foreign Office.

The CoE provides support to EU Member States and institutions, particularly the European External Action Service (EEAS), in enhancing their civilian crisis management capabilities.

It serves as a central hub for sharing and exchanging national models and experiences ("good practices") and for developing concrete ideas and strategies to advance European civilian crisis management.

Currently, the CoE has 23 members, all of which are EU Member States.

As a young, dynamic, and one-of-a-kind organization, the CoE operates at the intersection of EU Member States, EU institutions in Brussels, and civilian CSDP missions in the field.
