In the Corporate Research & Mercedes Benz Cars Development (RD) department, we shape the future generations of automobiles and are the architects of our own operating system, MB.OS.

This not only refers to the digital experience of the vehicle software itself, but also to the overall development of innovative vehicles with the highest quality and maximum efficiency.

We are already working on the vehicles that will secure Mercedes-Benz's technological leadership in the future.


In the MB.OS Architecture department, we therefore work cross-functionally and across model series to design the future vehicle generations of Mercedes-Benz Cars in terms of control unit networking, power supply, and energy efficiency.


In the "Energy Efficiency" team, we develop concepts and measures in MB.OS to reduce the electrical energy consumption of all electrical/electronic components, as this has a significant impact on the electric range of our vehicles.

Starting from a new target value for the total electrical energy consumption, measures must be defined and implemented to achieve this target value for our new model series.

Similarly, innovation projects - such as the use of methods from artificial intelligence - are part of our portfolio, where we pursue new, unique approaches to make our vehicles more efficient.
