Duties:


As an IT SPEC (APPSW) (Title 5), GS , you will perform the following duties:

  • Reviews and analyzes the business practices of serviced organizations to determine those practices that could be significantly enhanced by the modification of existing or the development of new automated systems.
  • Receives and evaluates requests for data processing projects. Requests are normally general in nature without specific information on input/output data and hardware instructions. Conducts studies concerning the feasibility of proposed new system development projects. Determines time and cost savings, manhour and material requirements, hardware capabilities, and overall impact on resources. Advises on the best methods to accomplish the project. Works closely with customers to determine required functional requirements and to translate functional requirements into design specifications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:


Applicants must have at least 18 months experience, education, or training equivalent to at least the GS-10 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government.

This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated.


This experience must include activities such as:

  • Experience reviewing and analyzing the business practices of serviced organizations to determine those practices that could be significantly enhanced by the modification of existing or the development of new automated systems.
  • Experience receiving and evaluating requests for data processing projects.
  • Experience integrating multiple operating systems and coordinating between functional areas that necessitates unusual coordination and organization requirements.
