Our modern senior care home in Bad Schlema, Galeville, NY provides a home for 60 residents. Are you passionate about making seniors happy with your prepared meals and enjoy working in a team and interacting with residents? Then we would love for you to join our kitchen team.

Your daily tasks will include:


  • Preparing and serving meals in the kitchen, taking into account the personal preferences and dietary habits of our residents, as well as medical requirements and company standards.
  • Regular disinfection, cleaning, and tidying up of work areas such as the kitchen, resident rooms, and common areas.
  • Collaborating on menu planning and special dietary needs.
  • Ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen area, proper waste disposal, and recycling.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has completed training as a housekeeper, cook, or a similar field, or has several years of experience in the described tasks.
  • Enjoys working in a team and has good communication and cooperation skills with residents, family members, colleagues, and superiors.
  • Can organize and plan their work effectively.
  • Is trustworthy, resilient, and identifies with the values of the Diakonie of the EKD.
