Summary:

Performs all required statistical and clerical duties necessary to compute and prepare multi-state hourly and/or salaried payrolls within multiple corporate entities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Verify electronic and paper timecards for accuracy and perform required checks and balances.
  • Import timecard information into payroll system.
  • Process weekly, semimonthly, and monthly payrolls in their entirety.
  • Prepare and distribute various payroll reports.
  • Prepare pay statements for distribution.
  • Audit employee setup and changes in Ascentis HRIS/Payroll system, checking for accuracy.
  • Assist with monthly payroll tax account reconciliations.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly commissions and the issuance of the commission checks.
  • Process tax levies, garnishments, and child support orders.
  • Review and approve quarter end and year end balancing reports and W2's.
  • Perform additional related duties as requested or required.
  • Parttime/20 hours per week and able to work Monday, Tuesday and a half day on Friday.

Education and Experience:


  • High School diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience processing payroll.
  • Advanced coursework in the area of finance at a two or fouryear technical school or college is preferred.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency especially with Word and Excel. Must be able to create simple formulas in Excel and be proficient with the creation and use of pivot tables.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to research and retain knowledge of payroll taxation. The selected individual must be a team player and detail oriented.
