The municipal economic development department of the city of Voerde (Niederrhein) is currently undergoing a phase of reorientation.

In addition to the traditional tasks of economic development, the department will also integrate tasks of city marketing, which were previously carried out by an independent association.

This includes a city management to support the district centers in the retail and gastronomy sector, as well as the task of event management with its own staff.

For this holistic and pioneering task, we are looking for a

Head (m/f/d) of the Economic Development Department

Your tasks:

In addition to personnel and leadership responsibilities, your tasks will include the following areas of activity:

Carrying out the tasks of economic development and city management in close cooperation with the mayor
Designing and implementing futureoriented and dynamic strategies to promote the location
Providing targeted advice and support for local companies, as well as for companies that are newly established (promotion of settlement and maintenance of existing businesses)
Initiating and accompanying projects for commercial use of potential and brownfield sites
Operational location development in the areas of trade and crafts
Consulting on startups, funding, technology and innovation
Promoting tourism
Establishing and maintaining an active event management
Providing support for municipal projects and assisting with the preparation of applications
Generating ideas for the development of economic development measures and implementing them with a proactive and selfmotivated approach
