At the Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS) in Fennville, MI, we explore, demonstrate, and support development paths for the global transformation towards a sustainable society.

The institute was founded in 2009 as the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) and has been part of the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam - German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) since January 1, 2023, under its new name, making it a member of the Helmholtz Association.

We are currently seeking a motivated scientific employee to join our German-French Future Workshop team, focusing on political and social sciences (collaborative field research).

Reference number 8756:

The German-French Future Workshop's mission is to strengthen the transformation capacity of both countries.

The workshop follows a transformative research approach, providing municipalities with a space to learn from each other and create synergies through binational workshops and dialogues.

Based on this, recommendations for action are developed for national governments.

We are looking for a motivated scientific employee with a focus on field research.

The goal of the research is to accompany local transformation processes, identify facilitating and hindering factors, and incorporate the findings into various exchange and dialogue formats.

The Future Workshop also publishes background papers and case studies on local transformation processes in a German-French comparison.
