AMI is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join the Vascular Institute team as a Procedure Scheduler, to support designated Vascular Institute healthcare providers.

The Procedure Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling procedures for patients under the care of assigned Vascular Institute providers, ensuring seamless coordination of care and optimal patient experience.

Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both medical staff and patients will be instrumental in facilitating the smooth operation of the AMI Vascular Institute.

The responsibilities of the Vascular Institute Procedure Scheduler include:

  • Coordinates and schedules procedures for patients under assigned healthcare providers' care, ensuring that appointments are scheduled in a timely manner and according to guidelines;
  • Works closely with assigned healthcare providers to optimize their schedules, minimizing gaps and maximizing efficiency in patient care delivery. Coordinates with providers to ensure their schedules align with patient needs and clinic capacity;
  • Prepares patient charts for scheduled procedures by ensuring that all relevant medical records, test results, and documentation are complete and accurate;
  • Coordinates with vendors on special cases ensuring availability for the procedure;
  • Monitors and tracks patient recalls for followup appointments, tests, or procedures as directed by healthcare providers. Ensures that patients are scheduled for necessary followup care in a timely manner and that any overdue recalls are addressed promptly;
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for assigned healthcare providers regarding procedure scheduling, addressing any scheduling conflicts or concerns;
  • Communicates with patients to schedule procedures, provide preprocedure instructions, and address any questions or concerns related to their upcoming appointments. Ensures patients are informed and prepared for their procedures, including any necessary preprocedure preparations;
  • Coordinates procedural appointments with ancillary services, including imaging, laboratory, preoperative testing, and transportation to ensure all necessary preparations are completed prior to the procedure date;
  • Maintains accurate and uptodate records of scheduled procedures, including patient demographic information, procedure details, and any special instructions provided by the healthcare provider;
  • Collaborates closely with medical staff, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure smooth coordination of care and optimal patient outcomes. Communicates any scheduling issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel for resolution; and
  • All other duties as assigned.
This position is a full time, 40 hour per week position with a work schedule of Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm. The position is based in the AMI Galloway office location.
