Research Assistant (d/m/w) - 75% working time - Salary group 13 TV-L Berlin Universities:


Job Description:


  • Integration of geological, geophysical, geothermal, and geodetic data into consistent numerical 3D models
  • Numerical simulations of coupled thermal, hydraulic, and chemical processes, taking into account existing heterogeneity
  • Coupling of datadriven simulations of subsurface processes with simulations from other research groups, such as surface processes
  • Validation of simulation results based on observations
  • Quantification of longterm effects of varying boundary conditions
  • Interpretation and publication of results

Expected Qualifications:


  • Successfully completed university degree (diploma, master's or equivalent) in physics, mathematics, or geosciences
  • Indepth knowledge of thermohydraulicchemical interactions in the lithosphere
  • Good knowledge of geochemistry and reactive transport
  • Basic knowledge of 3D structural modeling and numerical methods
  • Programming skills (e.g. Python, Fortran, or C/C++) are advantageous
  • Good German and/or English skills required; willingness to acquire the missing language skills
