Transportation Technician II

Location:
Transportation Department


Non-Interim Position

12 mos, 8 hrs/day

Grade 19, $18.15 hr

Start Date: 07/01/2024

Purpose Statement**The job of Transportation Technician II is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the educational process with specific responsibilities for office support in the Transportation Department; communicating information to District personnel and the public; maintaining complete and accurate records; providing information and/or direction as requested.

This job reports to Director of Transportation


Essential Functions**Attends department and/or in-service meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.

Collects data for the purpose of preparing reports and/or processing forms.

Maintains manual and electronic documents files and records (e.g. letters, forms, reports, employee records, etc.) for the purpose of providing up-to-date information and/or historical reference in accordance with established administrative guidelines and legal requirements.

Orders and maintains an inventory of supplies and materials (e.g. forms, office supplies, cleaning supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring items' availability.

Performs general clerical functions (e.g. scheduling, copying, faxing, data entry, filing, etc.) for the purpose of supporting office functions.

Prepares documents and reports (e.g. payroll reports, human resource reports, invoices, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to other parties and/or agencies.

Processes documents and materials (e.g. work orders, invoices, time sheets, field trip monies, etc.) for the purpose of updating and distributing information, authorizing action and/or complying with administrative guidelines.

Responds to a variety of inquires from parents, District personnel, other organizations, etc. for the purpose of providing general information and/or direction.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities


KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.

Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
concepts of grammar and punctuation; common office machines; office methods and practices.

ABILITY is required to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use basic, job-related equipment.

Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods.

Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment.

Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate.

Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:

working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions.

rk Environment**The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 75% sitting, 15% walking, and 10% standing. The job is performed in a generally hazard free environment.
