Position Description:

Assists with the facilitation of educational curriculum and student success. Assistants will assist teachers as they use a blend of technology-based and teacher-led instruction to ensure mastery of content.

Throughout the school week, assistants will support teachers and students with Social Emotional Learning, Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, Project-Based Learning, and Culturally Responsive curriculum.


Spark Community Schools at Child Crisis Arizona assistants help cultivate a learning environment where students can be curious, independent, productive, and kind.

Our assistants help create a safe-space where students are honored and valued for who they are. Assistants help students attending microschools with learning, supporting students where they are. Our assistants will work in our microschool setting with teachers and approximately 15-17 Kindergarten-3rd grade students.

Assistants support individual student needs with creativity and innovation while respecting all students and families and their access to quality education.

Our assistants help teachers as they use high impact instructional practices and motivational techniques to engage students in learning.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Helps lead two blendedage classrooms of 1517 students each for 1520 hours per week, 180 instructional days and 10 Professional Development days, working a total of 190 days.
  • Assists with supervising students and maintaining an environment of safety and inclusion.
  • Helps guide students' individualized learning needs.
  • Supports small group activities.
  • Assists with monitoring student academic progress.
  • Helps communicate with parents and families.
  • Supports with motivating students to be excited about learning.
  • Helps encourage studentled experiential learning.
  • Assists with managing student behavior in a supportive and kind way.
  • Collaborates with teachers and other assistants.
  • Helps enforce safespace guidelines consistent with Spark Community Schools and Child Crisis Arizona's goals, mission, and values.
  • Maintains regular and consistent inperson attendance.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to pass a Level 1 background check, drug screening, and obtain an AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card
  • Good judgment, discretion, confidentiality
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently
  • Experience working with students in grades K3 highly preferred
