The University of Trier stands out as a young campus university with a focus on the humanities, particularly due to its extensive international network.

In the Department VI of the University of Trier, the following position will be available as soon as possible in the field of geography with a focus on human geography:

Lecturer for Special Tasks (m/f/d)

(E 13 TV-L, 100%, permanent)

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting courses in the basic education of human geography (teaching degree in geography, bachelor's and master's programs) and in qualitative methods training in human geography, totaling 16 hours per week.
  • Supervising exams and final theses.
  • Participation in the organization of study programs and in university selfadministration.
  • There is the opportunity to participate in research projects in the human geography subjects of Department VI.

We expect the following from you:

  • Excellent knowledge of research approaches and theories in human geography, as well as human geography/social science research methods. A focus on qualitative methods is desirable.
  • Interest and ability to teach at the university level in German (and possibly English).
  • Experience in supervising and providing academic guidance to students in the bachelor's and master's phases.
