Description
The Dane County Airport has a part-time (0.5 FTE) vacancy for a Toll Booth Attendant position in Madison, WI.


This position is on a rotating schedule for 2nd and 3rd shift and includes a weekend schedule.
The Eligibility List created will be used to fill future vacancies over the next six (6) months. All are encouraged to apply.

DEFINITION


Under supervision on assigned shift, collects parking fees, to provide customer assistance, perform maintenance work and perform other work as required at parking facilities.

Individuals may perform other duties as assigned including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak periods, balance the workload, or in emergency situations.


EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Collects proper fees from parking lot users and issues correct change. Prepares daily revenue and cash balance reports. Assists patrons in locating their vehicles. Performs daily vehicle inventory. Keeps parking facility clean and in working order.

Assists in light maintenance of parking facility (e.g., summer and winter ground maintenance, upkeep of tollhouse, tollbooth, parking ramp, entrance and exit plazas).


EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

Education, Training and Experience:


Any combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma/GED and one (1) year of cash handling experience.

Security or data entry experience is preferred.


Certification and Licenses:

Access to personal transportation and eligibility to hold or possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license.

A good driving record of at least three years' duration as evidenced by freedom from multiple or serious traffic violations or accidents.

Background Check Statement:

Some positions may require a criminal background check which can include fingerprinting due to the nature of the job's responsibilities.

For Bilingual Positions:


1) Provide services in both English and the required foreign language (e.g., Spanish, Hmong, etc.), including oral interpretation and written translations in that language.

2) Applicants being considered for Bilingual positions will be tested during the recruitment process.

This may consist of either being able to respond to questions in that language (e.g., Spanish, Hmong, etc.) during the interview; or passing an oral translation (English to foreign language / foreign language to English) exam prior to employment.


Physical and Environmental Work Requirements
Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, lift, bend, push, reach, climb and crouch. Ability to frequently climb in and out of a pickup truck. Ability to stand or sit for long periods. Ability to perform manual work in severe weather conditions.

Ability to use hands or feet for repetitive single grasping, fine manipulations, pushing and pulling and operating controls and equipment.

Ability to operate a computer at night with limited lighting. Ability to see and hear within normal ranges with or without corrective devices. Ability to work in various temperatures. Ability to work in severe weather conditions.
