Description
Schmitt Engineering is a medium-sized company based in Erlangen. With many years of engineering expertise in various industries, we are a partner to the industry.

Our activities cover the entire process chain from planning and project management to development and construction, as well as production, assembly, and commissioning.

Your responsibilities will include modeling and simulation of control and protection systems (C&P) for electrical energy systems (e.g. switchgear, HVDC, wind energy, photovoltaic systems). You will also be responsible for simulating the electrical systems to analyze their behavior under different operating conditions and optimize them using simulation software (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD/EMTDC, RTDS, or PowerFactory). Additionally, you will ensure a stable and reliable power supply by integrating voltage control concepts (e.g. grid-forming or direct voltage control) into an electrical energy system.


To be successful in this role, you should have a degree in electrical engineering and control technology, energy technology, mechatronics, or a similar qualification.

Good knowledge of power electronics (rectifier and inverter technology) is required, and knowledge of network calculation for power supply networks (e.g.

load flow calculation, short-circuit calculation, stability analysis, reactive power demand) is advantageous. You should also have extensive knowledge of (real-time) simulation software (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD/EMTDC, RTDS, or PowerFactory) and
