Medical Office/Behavioral Health experience NECESSARY.


Responsibilities:


  • Greets and checks in all patients reporting to the medical office in a professional, courteous and welcoming manner
  • This position is responsible for accurate checkin, checkout of clients for the facility, information capture, and revenue collection per procedures
  • Responsible for having a general knowledge of the mental health center in order to assist patients with questions and concerns, in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Requires extensive use of the computer

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Reception, Check-In, Checkout (where applicable)
  • Greet and assist patients; follow appropriate patient registration/checkin policies and procedures; verify and/or update all demographic information
  • Working knowledge of Health Plan coverage types, for example (but not limited to) traditional, deductible, Copays, etc.
  • Checkin patients by following checkin policies and procedures and using the checkin systems or manual visit records when the systems are down; determine patient's membership/benefits according to the benefit display; create accounts as necessary
  • Manage electronic inbasket; use notes function where to document activity; obtain a patient. Check referral
  • Collect copays and fees; inform patients of available payment options
  • Generate appropriate encounter forms per procedure electronically or manually if the system is down
  • Checkout patients by following checkout policies and procedures and using the checkout systems or manual visit records when the systems are down
  • Follow appropriate procedures when registering patients
  • Initiate and complete required forms for all appointments per policy
  • Access necessary information from the fee schedule to determine appropriate fees service codes in order to collect appropriate revenue
  • Assist patients by: explaining copays/applicable fees
  • Initiating and completion of appropriate forms as needed
  • Maintain the patient willcall area box if applicable
  • Communicate with clinical and business office staff as needed
  • Cash handling and reconciliation
  • Comply with all applicable cash handling policies and procedures
  • Responsible for the safekeeping of change funds, all revenue collected during the shift, all assigned revenue documents, and all keys assigned for cash control
  • Obtain, secure, and ensure sufficient denominations to provide change
  • Reconcile funds according to the policies and procedures
  • Use correct procedures to document and report discrepancies

Other:

  • Working towards positive operational outcomes
  • Responsible for cleaning office and maintaining organized workspace
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Organized
  • Have common sense and good time Management skills
  • Must have flexibility with work schedules and locations (day, evening, and weekends), Monday thru Thursday 8:307:30 and Fri/Sat 9:003p
  • Must have knowledge of basic office machines and programs
  • Must be able to follow policies and procedures in detail
  • Ability to read and interpret documents; write routine reports and correspondences; speak effectively before clients and staff
  • Must have professional demeanor
  • Office attire required
  • Thrives in highpressure environment
  • Office administration: 1 year
    Preferred:
  • Medical/

Behavioral Health: 1 year

  • High school or equivalent (required)
  • Language: Spanish: (required)
  • Schedule: Varies (Monday to Thursday 8307:30pm and Friday and Saturday 93:00pm)
  • MUST be willing to work some Saturdays
