THE POSITION:


Do you enjoy spending your day outside? Are you interested in performing skilled work in the operation of specialized equipment and other manual work? The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking an experienced and dependable, 3-Year Limited Term, Game Lands Maintenance Worker for the State Game Lands.

The primary purpose of these lands is the management of habitat for wildlife and provide opportunities for lawful hunting and trapping.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


  • As a Game Land Maintenance Worker 1, you will be performing semiskilled work and assisting with other duties as needed. For example, in this position you will assist with maintenance, repair, and construction of bridges, roads, parking areas, gates, posting signs, ranges, and more. You will also have the opportunity to assist with mowing, habitat management, and other duties. This is the perfect job for you to continue developing skills in the construction trades, as well as expanding your knowledge and understanding of the agency's wildlife habitat program.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment, 40 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday
  • Friday.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • One year of laboring experience using construction tools and equipment;
    or:
  • One year of farming experience using agricultural tools and equipment;
    or:
  • One year of construction equipment operation experience;
    or:
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:


  • This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania noncommercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:


  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
