Description

The city of Bamberg is looking for a Cultural Education Curator (m/f/d) for the museums of the city of Bamberg, starting on May 9, 2024. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bamberg offers a diverse range of evidence of its over 1000-year history. It is located in a scenic area, offers a rich cultural program, and has a high recreational value.

The museums of the city of Bamberg are responsible for the Historical Museum at Domplatz with art and cultural history exhibitions, the outstanding Ludwig collection in the Old Town Hall, the exhibition house Villa Dessauer, the E.T.A. Hoffmannhaus, and, together with the Museum Service GmbH, for the operation of the Documentation Center Mikwe and the St. Elisabeth Church. The master plan outlines a comprehensive program for the realignment of the museums.

Your tasks will include:

Leading all activities related to cultural education at the museums of the city of Bamberg, working with internal and external partners, and participating in the development of our exhibitions.

This includes in particular:

Developing and regularly updating strategic guidelines for cultural education at the museums of the city of Bamberg

Conceiving program formats and annual programs for cultural education for groups and individual guests of different target groups and languages, for children and adolescents of different age
