Job Description:

The GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt operates one of the leading particle accelerator facilities for scientific research.

In the coming years, the new FAIR facility (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) will be built in international cooperation, making it one of the largest research projects worldwide.

We are currently seeking a
Student Assistant (m/f/d) for the
Technology Laboratory with an attached electroplating department to start as soon as possible.

Reference number 24.01-WS-6690

The main tasks of the Technology Laboratory include surface finishing, as well as the development and application of special manufacturing processes and connection technologies, often in relation to the construction of prototypes and small series of special accelerator components.

This also includes an electroplating operation for high-gloss copper plating of very large components for accelerator structures.
