    Description

    At SBLI Life Insurance, the Senior Reinsurance Analyst is responsible for the administrative reinsurance function within the Actuarial Department. The Senior Reinsurance Analyst works closely with the Actuaries to ensure that the reinsurance treaties are properly administered and accounted for on the TAI Reinsurance System. This individual is also the main contact person for the reinsurers. These functions include learning the terms and conditions of the reinsurance treaties, maintaining policy or cession records on the TAI Reinsurance System, preparing billing statements and reports, review system calculations, and assisting with audits and other miscellaneous related ad hoc projects.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Ensure compliance with all applicable reinsurance treaty terms
    2. Ensure data quality on TAI Reinsurance System
    3. Identify TAI Reinsurance System problems, work with vendor and internal programmers to define and implement solutions
    4. Administer all necessary facets of reinsurance administration services including processing and tracking reinsurance claims, premium billing and payment, and reinsurance treaty review and maintenance
    5. Supports timely and accurate preparation of automatic submission of premium payments and reporting to our reinsurers
    6. Prepare financial reporting related to reinsurance
    7. Performs self-audits throughout the year to TAI Reinsurance System to maintain correct retention on policies
    8. Communicate with and respond to reinsurers requests accurately and timely
    9. Develop and maintain reinsurance processing procedures and training materials.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • H.S. or equivalent plus college and/or industry classes. LOMA designations preferred.
    • Proficient with TAI Reinsurance System with 5+ years experiences
    • Proficiency in Excel and Access Database
    • Knowledge of reinsurance treaties and procedures
    • Work experience in the life insurance or reinsurance industry
