Remote with occasional travel to DOT HQ, Washington, D.C.

Position Overview:

Indev is seeking a proven Tester with strong automation and SQL experience to join one of our federal projects supporting Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C.

Your experience and expertise will be critical with validating system functionality and identifying security risks with a new data-sharing platform under development to identify vehicle defects and safety issues, while improving vehicle and roadway safety.

This is a direct-hire, full time position with salary and benefits.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Support the implementation of a data pipeline, data sharing platform, and analytics services with various levels of curation, from raw data to highly structured data for reporting leveraging the existing EDMAS data warehouse and Tableau systems.
Provide and test performance with users and systems to ensure quality and meet performance standards and expectations.
Validate data extractions, formatting, and the preprocessing necessary to provide frequent (daily/weekly/monthly) data to the NHTSA analytics data warehouse
Identify and document security risks.
Use existing JIRA, Confluence, and other DOT and NHTSA tools and services.
Comply with data governance and change control requirement and provide recommendations for improvements.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific, technical, or functional discipline with 5 years of experience, of which at least 3 years must be specialized in system functional analysis
Experience with creating backend test plans and performing structural testing, functional/nonfunctional testing, and schema testing in an Agile environment.
Proficient in security testing of APIs and databases to detect vulnerabilities, including SQL injection, crosssite scripting, and denialofservice attacks.
Competent with supporting DevSecOps techniques in a CI/CD setting.
Experience with AWS and Azure Cloud environments
Proficient in Database Management
Experience with: Java, JavaScript, Python and SQL
Skilled with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress)

Nice to have's:

The following certifications are preferred: ISTQB Certified Tester, IIST Certified Software Test Automation Specialist, AST Test Automation Engineering, ISCB Certified Professional in Test Automation, Security+, CISSP, PMP, Scrum Master
Prior experience working at Department of Transportation
Current security clearance
