Minimum Qualifications
There are no education or experience qualifications for this class.

Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.

Incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.

Preferred Qualifications:

The knowledge and ability to operate the vehicles and equipment used in maintaining the Wadsworth Center's buildings and grounds—including, but not limited to, lawnmowers, snowblowers, utility carts, delivery vans, landscape/rack trucks, and forklifts.


Duties Description


The Facilities Operations Assistant will perform routine and unskilled work such as moving supplies and equipment throughout the facilities; removing materials from construction sites; painting; year-round grounds work; maintaining machinery; loading and unloading trucks; performing rough carpentry and masonry work; and operating the pickup/delivery program across the Wadsworth Center's five sites.

For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position.

Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
