Duties:


  • You will counsel students in the areas of performance, deportment, attitude, and participation to coordinate corrective measures
  • You will guide personnel or management on installation training programs.
  • You will advise the command on matters pertaining to training and education programs

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travelrelated purchases.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and nonionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current instructor certification.

Qualifications:


  • FOR GS9:
  • Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizes OSHA safety protocols and be able to operate equipment in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines; 2) Operates construction equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, or cranes. They should be proficient in the safe and effective operation of this equipment; 3) Performs preoperational maintenance and basic trouble shooting of general construction and project site equipment maintenance; and 4) Adapts to changing conditions, making quick decisions, and solving problems as they arise.

  • FOR GS7:
  • Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilize security, safety, and environmental requirements associated with general construction; 2) Operates construction equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, or cranes. They should be proficient in the safe and effective operation of this equipment; 3) Utilize local, state, and federal regulations governing the operation of heavy machinery; and 4) Navigates through construction sites, avoiding obstacles, and maintaining proper distances from other equipment and workers.- PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The work requires physical exertion, such as long periods of standing while conducting classroom, lab, and field instruction. The work also requires dexterity and agility to bend and reach to demonstrate operation, maintenance, or repair of specialized equipment for drilling operations. Equipment normally not to exceed 50 pounds. Must be physically capable of working long hours in extreme high and low temperatures.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • The work involves high risks requiring special safety precautions, e.g., working around heavy equipment/machines and moving parts. There could be exposures to irritant chemicals or toxic fumes. Instructors shall be required to wear protective clothing and or gear such as respirators, masks, hearing protection, steeltoed boots, eye protection, and gloves.
