Director of Fish Facility Relliehausen (m/f/d)


The Department of Self-Operating Units at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen Foundation Public Law is seeking to fill a position as
Director of Fish Facility Relliehausen (m/f/d) at the earliest possible date, in accordance with pay group 7 TV-L, full-time (part-time possible).

The position is permanent.

The Relliehausen experimental farm of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen operates an aquaculture facility with a research area.

Cold-water fish such as various strains of trout, char, and grayling are bred, raised, researched, and marketed in ten outdoor ponds, round tank systems in indoor and outdoor areas, as well as in the hatchery.

The fish house is currently being rebuilt and includes a research unit, a marketing unit, and a seminar room.


Your responsibilities

  • Management of the fish facility
  • Care and documentation of the fish and the facility
  • Support in planning, conducting, and documenting experiments
  • Marketing of fry and consumable fish
  • Management of the hatchery and breeding management
  • Possible training of apprentices

Your profile

  • Completed training as a fish farmer or equivalent qualification
  • Master's degree is desirable

Applicants should also possess the following qualities:

  • Good knowledge in the field of aquaculture
  • Ability to work independently
  • Possession of a driver's license
