Grade 3, $21.34 per hour, per Classified Personnel Association collective bargaining agreement, pending negotiations. Includes full benefits package and Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) participation.

OPRF, is a comprehensive public high school located in Oak Park, Ill., a suburb eight miles due west of downtown Chicago. We are a one-school district, with the majority of our students coming from two sender districts, River Forest Public Schools District 90 and Oak Park Elementary School District 97. We offer more than 200 courses, a variety of programs for students with special needs, 75 clubs and activities, and 29 competitive sports. We prepare our students well for post-secondary success, with an average ACT composite score of 24 and a 94% graduation rate.

Qualifications:


Position Summary:


Provides responsible, accurate, confidential support and administrative functions to ensure efficient operation of the day-to-day needs of the Bookstore, Instructional Technology, and any department requesting the Bookstore's assistance.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide courteous, efficient assistance to students, parents and or staff in all phases of securing books, supplies, bus passes, yearbooks, dance tickets, information, etc.
  • Assist in the processing of new enrolling students including:
  • Explain to each new family the Instructional Material Fee (IMF) and District class fees;
  • Set up/negotiate payment agreements for IMF/District fees and other outstanding fees when necessary; processing payments accordingly;
  • Pull schedules to determine and check out IMF materials to students;
  • Provide required supplies to students granted IMF/District fee Waiver.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, confidential records and reports including, but not limited to:
  • Waivers;
  • Textbooks (former state loan and current bookstore library);
  • Delivered class sets of consumable items w/in IMF (novels, kits, workbooks);
  • IMF (Instructional Material Fee);
  • IEP/504/Medical 2nd set accommodations;
  • Miscellaneous obligations paid in Bookstore to be credited to other departments.
  • Ensure processing of any payment received in the Bookstore (by mail, in person, or RevTrak); post payments and refunds to the appropriate nonintegrated POS and or Skyward accounts (Student Financial and/or Textbook modules). Audit all payments every two weeks to assure proper accounting.
  • Work with families of graduating seniors to ensure all obligations are cleared before graduation. Bill for unreturned textbooks within established deadlines. Reverse billing when textbooks returned within established time frames.
  • Prepare data mining reports and various other Skyward reports as required to track textbook and obligation payments.
  • Initiate check/credit card refunds to Business Office of Bookstore related items.
  • Responsible for being proficient in all aspects of the Bookstore POS hardware and software systems, including, but not limited to:
  • Physically set-up/take-down/troubleshoot POS system in Bookstore and West Gym/North Cafeteria during summer. Utilize support from technology when necessary;
  • Supervise and train summer cashiers in POS/Skyward/customer service expectations;
  • Responsible for daily opening/closing Book
