DataVox is seeking experienced Cable Technicians to join the BTS Department in Dallas - Fort Worth

What You'll Do:

  • Installation and testing associated with Network cabling
  • Cat.5e, Cat.6, Fiber Optic, Coax, Risers and Multi-Pair Tie Cables
  • Interpret CAD design drawings and adhere to BICSI
  • EIA
  • TIA specifications
  • Solid experience in complete precabling preparation, installation of patch panels, punch down 66/110 blocks, 110patch panel, and various data and voice jacks. Install, terminate, and test all forms of communication cabling will offer you more opportunity

Who You Are:

  • 2+ years of experience with commercial cable installation required
  • Previous experience with network cables (Cat5, Cat6, etc.)
  • Experience with closet work a plus
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Clean driving record required
  • Have vehicle in good working condition
  • Must have working mobile phone
  • Must pass background check and drug screen
  • Must have their own tools with in 60 day of employment:
  • Phillips Screwdriver Set (#1, #2, & #3), Flathead Screwdriver Set (small, medium, & large)
  • Tape Measure, Sheetrock Saw (Key hole saw), Punch Tool w/110 & 66 blade
  • Snips, Toner & Wand (Progressive Electronics 200EP or similar)
  • Kleins (linemen pliers) or Side Cutters, Crescent Wrench Set (small & medium)
  • Socket Set (3/8 drive ranging from 1⁄4" to 3⁄4"), Open End/Box End Wrench Set (ranging from 1⁄4" to 3⁄4")
  • Torpedo Level, Hammer-Touch Labeler (Brother PT1090 or PT1010)
  • Hacksaw, Tool Bag or Tool Box (recommend lockable)
  • Flashlight, Caulking Gun, Channel Locks (small & medium)

Physical Demands:


Work involves standing, talking, hearing, using hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reaching with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stand, stoop, kneel, drive and reach.

Skill in operation of some of the listed tools and equipment; and ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time.

The employee must frequently push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in inclement weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration.


The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.

Work on job sites require usage of required PPE including, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, Kevlar sleeves, hearing protection, etc.
